Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Machine Operator / General Laborer to join our team at an injection molding company. This position plays a vital role in our production process, ensuring the efficient operation of machinery, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to overall plant operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation:

    • Operate injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment according to established procedures.
    • Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot minor issues to ensure smooth operation.
    • Load raw materials into machines and remove finished products, ensuring consistency and quality.
    • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to prevent downtime and maintain optimal performance.

  • Quality Control:

    • Inspect products for defects, deviations, or inconsistencies, and take corrective actions when necessary.
    • Document production data and report any issues to the supervisor.
    • Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards and specifications.

  • General Labor:

    • Assist with general labor tasks, including packaging, labeling, and transporting finished goods to the designated areas.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by regularly cleaning workstations, machines, and surrounding areas.
    • Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
    • Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • Previous experience as a machine operator, particularly in injection molding, is preferred but not required.
    • General labor experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an asset.

  • Skills:

    • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
    • Comfortable standing, bending, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods.
    • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.

$16 - $18 p/hour
