Ripple Effect Consulting is currently seeking individuals who are highly motivated and enthusiastic about launching their careers in the Construction/Engineering/Surveying field within the Atlanta, GA area.
The position of Data Field Technician entails conducting various inspections, which may include but are not limited to, manhole inspections, flow monitoring, smoke testing, and dye flooding. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn. While prior experience is not mandatory, it is preferred. Familiarity with sanitary/storm sewers is considered advantageous.
Applicants must be capable of passing a federal background check, drug screening, and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Position Requirements:
- Willingness to enter sanitary manholes using provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and maintenance of a satisfactory driving record, in accordance with our insurance company's requirements.
- Successful completion of periodic drug testing as outlined by company policy.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Completion of basic safety training.
- Adherence to all company safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills.
- Responsibility for adhering to project quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Basic computer proficiency; experience in GIS environments and database management is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing basic mathematical calculations and applying them in practical situations.
- Responsiveness to inquiries from office engineering personnel regarding field-collected data and collection methods.
- Assistance to the crew chief in field equipment setup.
- Maintenance of field equipment.
Preferred Skills:
- Fundamental mechanical proficiency.
- Familiarity with database management.
- Basic comprehension of GIS principles and proficiency with GIS software.
- Basic understanding of sewer systems and natural watercourses.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to descend into sanitary manholes while wearing appropriate safety equipment to reach work areas.
- Capacity to frequently lift and transport items weighing over 100 pounds.
- Ability to regularly stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Proficiency in frequent reaching with hands and arms, as well as climbing.
- Possession of vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the capability to adjust focus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
