Staff Accountant position

Utilizing hands-on accounting experience and a basic understanding of accounting principles and company practices, the Accounting Generalist will perform regular and routine AP accounting activities. The Accounting Generalist will work closely with and under the supervision of the Staff Accountant in the Elkridge, MD office to ensure that the Company’s financial transactions and records are accurate, complete, and compliant.

The Accounting Generalist will play a key role in the day-to-day functions of the Pace Accounting and Finance Department. Additionally, the position will be a key business partner to Senior Management and the Sales and Operations teams.

*This position will start out on a part-time basis with additional working hours available on an as-needed basis.*

Primary Responsibilities:

- Process and oversee Accounts Payable.

• Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment.
• Prepare and execute weekly payments to vendors.
• Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records i.e. checking federal ID numbers, resolving purchase orders, and any payment discrepancies.
• Responsible for managing Company credit cards, which includes verifying monthly statements for distribution to cardholders, coding entries, and processing payments.
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
• Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices, and or necessary correspondence. Maintain historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, checks, and necessary correspondence by saving documents properly on the network.
• Report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
• Process approximately 250 invoices per month.
• Assist with developing and maintaining the Accounting Department procedures, forms, corporate-related documents, and records retention.
• Occasionally generate miscellaneous invoices and credit memos as needed.
• Work with additional PACE teams when needed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• +5 years of relevant AP experience and a basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, distribution, or services industries would be helpful.
• Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Relevant ERP experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
