At McCall-Thomas Engineering we have been providing quality engineering and technical services since 1945. McCall-Thomas Engineering is a multi-faceted engineering firm housing multiple divisions including the Communications Engineering Division, the Electrical Engineering Division, the Electric Utility Service Division, the Electric Field Operations & UAS, as well as the McT Learning Center and Print Services.


A McCall-Thomas Field Designer III will be working alongside a team of dedicated individuals committed to our mission of providing quality solutions and services to each of our clients. Primary responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Overhead and underground electric utility staking work using AutoCAD
  • Underground subdivision design experience
  • Line construction inspection (in line with standards)
  • Make ready for fiber installation (new hire will learn codes and Rural Utilities Standards)
  • Urban area underground distribution and commercial design at 15kV and 25kV with duct banks and/or manhole design.


What Will You Need:

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Eligibility to work in the US without any sponsorship is required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Prior design experience required for this level (basic AutoCAD skills needed)
  • Ability to travel-primarily within SC


McCall-Thomas Engineering has contracts with several utilities in neighboring states to provide storm damage assessment support in the event of severe weather. Our Electric division employees are required to be available to travel for our Storm Damage Assessment response team when called, either as a Driver or as an Assessor. Details will be discussed in more detail in an interview.
