As a Resident Services Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of our senior residents by connecting them with vital services and empowering them to age in place.
Your Impact: As a full-time Resident Services Coordinator at our 178-unit senior community Silvertree Seniors of Portsmouth in Portsmouth, VA, you will be at the heart of our mission to support our residents in maintaining their quality of life. Reporting directly to the Community Director, you will build relationships, coordinate services, and ensure our community meets the highest standards of care and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local agencies and nonprofits to provide essential services and resources to our residents.
- Program Development: Create and manage ongoing educational programs, wellness presentations, and on-site events that promote resident self-sufficiency and well-being.
- Resource Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of federal, state, and local resources, including entitlement programs, to support our residents' independent living.
- Resident Advocacy: Serve as a liaison between residents, their families, and medical or professional service providers, ensuring a seamless connection to necessary services.
- Compliance and Reporting: Maintain resident files in compliance with HUD requirements and prepare regulatory reports as needed.
- Transition Support: Assist residents and their families with transitions into and out of the community, providing guidance and support as directed by the resident.
- Safety and Ethics: Report any abuse, neglect, or exploitation in accordance with state statutes and ethical standards, ensuring our residents' safety and well-being.
What We’re Looking For:
- A bachelor’s degree in gerontology, social work, or a related field (Master’s degree and/or AASC certification preferred but not required).
- A minimum of three years of experience providing social services, particularly to elderly populations.
- A strong understanding of legal liability issues related to social services for at-risk populations.
- Passion and commitment to serving elderly residents with physical, functional, social, and cognitive challenges.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
