Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Mechanic is a hands-on role at Avanti Press and the primary responsibilities are to perform and coordinate mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance to automated packaging, material handling, and building equipment and machinery.
The position will also support the shipping/receiving and material handling of the operation which includes, but is not limited to:
- Shipping and receiving which includes preparing shipments for pick-up, conducting physical inventory, verifying accuracy of receiving documentation, and pulling stock/re-stocking.
- Applying mechanical skills to perform complex repairs on machinery.
- Material Handling which includes Lift Jack Operation, Lift Truck Operation, Scissor Lift Operation, and Commercial Straight Truck Operation to transport material locally.
Required Skill Set:
- Mechanical Aptitude, including experience with industrial automated machinery in addition to general mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air systems, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment (lift jacks and lift trucks).
- Must be a natural “Lean thinker” and have constant drive/desire to continuously improve processes and eliminate waste.
- Must be able to tolerate heights up to 30 feet.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
The right candidate for our Maintenance Mechanic role will be able to work a flexible schedule. The general core schedule is 8:00 AM-4:30PM, Monday through Friday. Preventative maintenance work will also need to be performed at hours that do not interfere with the daily production work. We also have high seasonal fluctuations in production. Extended hours and weekends may also be required during peak activity.
