Clayton Services is searching for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a thriving company in Northwest Houston. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing the company's outgoing payments to vendors and suppliers and providing general accounting support.

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour - $23.00/hour

Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Process many invoices, purchase orders, and receipts accurately and promptly.
  • Review and verify invoice accuracy, match invoices with purchase orders, and receive documentation.
  • Collaborate with department managers to obtain necessary approvals and ensure proper coding of expenses.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve inquiries, discrepancies, and payment-related issues.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of invoices, payments, and related documentation.
  • Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all outstanding invoices are accounted for and properly recorded.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities by reconciling accounts payable transactions and generating reports.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in generating reports and analyses related to accounts payable activities as needed.

Accounts Payable Specialist Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and address discrepancies and payment issues.

Accounts Payable Specialist Education and Experience:

  • 2 - 5 years of accounts payable experience.
  • Construction experience is a plus.
