Essential Duties and Responsibilities

LOD Staffing is looking for an Assembly/Hookup Inventory Yard Team Member to join our team. The team member will actively engage in shipping, receiving, hooking up and dissembling transformers in an outside environment.  Must possess ability to make sound, competent decisions.  

 Requirements / Skills

  • Must have experience working OUTSIDE in all weather conditions (for example: landscape, roofing, concrete, construction, etc)
  • Adhere to and follow clients safety standards and rules
  • Steel toed shoes are required
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and able to be standing most of the day
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Stable work history, preferably in an industrial environment

PREFERRED:

  • Some welding knowledge would be helpful (minimum 17.50 with a welding certificate)
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn how to use basic tools
  • Experience working in a mechanical field or position

LOD Staffing is currently looking for Coil Winders for one of our client.

  • Winding different types of coils
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work plans
  • Operating winding machines
  • Preparing materials to carry out the winding process
  • Performing measurements and quality inspections for windings in accordance with technical requirements

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent with relevant technical training/experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the winding process for transformers is required.
  • Ability to use math, read and interpret sophisticated drawings, and perform complex measurements.
  • Effective communication and social skills

Other Key Requirements:

  • Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
  • Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.

Working Environment

Often work outdoors, but some workers may work indoors. Are often exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Are sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures when working outdoors. Are sometimes exposed to contaminants, such as fumes from paints or sealers. Operating hand tools, machinery, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, handling, reach outward, reach above shoulder, crawl, squat/Kneel, bend, push and pull frequently. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on work surface.

  • Ability to use upper and lower extremities to move or transport 25 to 50 pounds, including pressing against something to force it in a forward, downward or outward position or drag, haul 25 to 50 pounds

  • Ability to bend the body downward and forward by bending spine at waist, and bending legs at knees and moving extremities in any direction

  • Ability to withstand physical demands on the body, including being in a stationary and/or standing position most of the day

  • Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, including where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly

  • Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
