We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and knowledgeable individual to join our client's team as a Forensic Architect with extensive knowledge of various roofing systems in the Chicago area. As a Forensic Architect Roof Inspector, you will play a crucial role in assessing and analyzing roofing systems to determine the root causes of issues, providing valuable insights for clients in the insurance, legal, and construction industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Roofing System Analysis: Conduct thorough inspections of roofing systems to identify and document issues such as leaks, storm damage, and material failures. Utilize your extensive knowledge of roofing systems to assess the condition of roofs and provide detailed reports.
  • Forensic Investigation: Apply forensic techniques to investigate the causes of roofing problems. This may involve examining construction defects, material failures, or the impact of severe weather events. Document findings and provide clear, concise reports.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with insurance professionals, legal teams, and construction experts to communicate your findings effectively. Collaborate with other professionals in the industry to ensure comprehensive assessments and solutions.
  • Client Consultation: Provide expert advice to clients on roof maintenance, repairs, and potential upgrades. Educate clients on the best practices for ensuring the longevity and durability of their roofing systems.
  • Certification Preference: While a preference for candidates holding the Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) designation is noted, we will also consider candidates with the Registered Roof Observer (RRO) certification, given their demonstrated expertise in the field.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of various roofing systems, materials, and construction techniques
  • Bachelor's or greater degree in Architecture, Civil / Structural Engineering or related field
  • Previous experience in forensic roof inspections or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and presenting findings.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Certification as a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) is preferred, but consideration will be given to candidates with the Registered Roof Observer (RRO) certification.
