Porter - 1st Shift (Part-Time) - $15.50/hr.

PrideStaff is recruiting for a part-time Porter for a local hotel in Asheville. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated hard worker with a positive attitude  

Job Summary:  Responsible for the cleanliness of the public and guest areas of the hotel, including the pool area and exterior.  Assist in Housekeeping area as needed removing linens/towels from rooms or delivering stocking needed items. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the cleaning of corridors, guest areas, and service areas; vacuum, sweep, mop and dust.
  • Responsible for the cleaning of the parking lot; picking up trash, removing leaves, sweeping/clearing the sidewalks, removing cigarette butts, etc.
  • Responsible for cleaning the vending areas, elevators and stairwells.
  • Responsible for assisting with cleaning public restrooms several times a day.
  • Remove housekeepers trash bags to the dumpster.
  • Deposit linen down chute.
  • Turns mattresses as directed by Head Housekeeper.
  • Stock supplies for linen closets as needed.
  • Check and replace all public lighting; corridors, vending area, pool area, breakfast area and exterior.  Report information to Maintenance as needed.
  • Clean the windows at each exit, breakfast area and meeting room; inside and outside.
  • Assist in the unloading of deliveries and the proper storage of such.
  • Assist housekeepers as instructed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience as a housekeeper a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated communication and customer service skills
  • Must be capable of lifting, push, or pull up to 35 pounds
  • Must be capable of constant walking, lifting, bending and pushing
  • Must be able to work with cleaning products regularly
