Position Overview
To ensure that the goals, objectives, and performance of the Quality Systems Group are in line with Detroit Chassis objectives, as agreed upon with company leadership. To provide leadership and direction for the development, implementation, performance and continuous improvement of the DCA Quality System and quality team.
Essential Functions Communications
•Provide associates clear, concise, and timely feedback and direction through appropriate Performance Management System tools
•To provide guidance and expertise in facilitating problem containment and corrective actions
•Able to drive reduction in external and internal indicators through problem solving techniques
•Ensure In-Station Process Control (ISPC), Error Proofing
•Provide visual control and work instructions at the operator level

Responsibilities
•Assist the Quality Manager (including but not limited to: Daily Quality Data and Countermeasure Activities, SC List Management, FMEA Facilitation, MSA, Control Plans, Inspection Instructions, Gage Control)
•Support production line with real-time problem identification and resolution related to product/process non-conformance, including troubleshooting root cause and identification of corrective action.
•Ensure execution of non-conforming material process for incoming component and assembly component non-conformances, including effective communication and disposition with suppliers, tracking status of open concerns, and driving corrective action.
•Collect, analyze, and communicate daily First Time Through (FTT) metrics and provide insight on continuous improvement opportunities.
•Lead and guide production resources in non-conforming product disassembly for•Assist with tool calibration.
•Lead 8D corrective action problem solving team meetings.
•Facilitate and track the Problem Solving for Quality issues and ensure systemic root causes are identified, contained, permanently corrected and verified appropriately
•Ensure data collection, charting, SPC/CPK studies are being performed on a regularly scheduled basis.

Skills Required
•Exposure to and experience with Lean concepts and practices
•OEM experience a plus
•Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to lead small groups in problem solving sessions and effectively engaging production team members.
•Fluent with Microsoft Excel / Microsoft Word / PowerPoint for data analysis, work instruction development, and technical presentations.
•Ability to use Minitab for statistical studies desirable.
•Ability to multi-task on complex issues
•General understanding of IATF 16949 standards affecting their processes.
•Ability to read and interpret drawings and customer specifications.
•Previous experience with use of basic precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

Competencies
•Understanding of the automotive process approach for auditing, including risk-based thinking
•Understanding of applicable Customer-Specific Requirements
•Understanding of Regulatory or Legislative requirements
•Understanding of applicable ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements related to the scope of the QMS, Manufacturing Process, and

Product Audits
•Understanding of applicable core tool requirements related to the scope of the QMS, Manufacturing Process, and Product Audits
•Ability to problem solve using 8D, 5 Why Analysis, DMAIC and fishbone diagramming
•Ability to use Word, Excel, Power Point and SPC programs
•Must be able to read, create and apply control plans

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. Work will require use of hand tools for product disassembly.
Required Education and Experience
•Minimum 5 years Quality System Experience
•In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
