Job Title: Machine Design Engineer

Location: Fort Wayne / New Haven Indiana

Salary: $70K to 80K per year

Job Description: As a Machine Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing custom automated equipment that meets specific customer requirements. You will play a crucial role in product design and improvement, including creating assembly and layout drawings, and developing comprehensive bills of material. This position requires a balance of technical expertise and excellent communication skills to ensure that deadlines are met and work is completed accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom automated equipment tailored to individual customer needs.
  • Create and revise mechanical design drawings, including assembly and layout drawings.
  • Develop and manage bills of material for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and clients to ensure design specifications are met.
  • Engage in hands-on involvement in product assembly and improvements.
  • Ensure all designs meet quality and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD design, particularly AutoCAD Inventor.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design of packaging equipment or other automated systems.
  • Hands-on experience in maintenance and fabrication.
  • Proven experience in project management.

Desired Experience:

  • Design experience with packaging and/or automated equipment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor.
  • Hands-on fabrication and maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
