Stansell is seeking a talented and experienced General Superintendent to join our team

Stansell is a rapidly growing, WBE certified, general contractor specializing in commercial construction services across the Southern United States. We focus on serving clients in the commercial market with emphasis on the following project types: restaurant dining and quick service food. The General Superintendent will be responsible for acting as a trainer to the regional superintendents to ensure they have the support and resources needed to complete a project.

Responsibilities

  • Weekly travel to different projects to oversee superintendent project progress.
  • Ensure all proper certifications are up to date.
  • Verify OSHA and local safety regulation.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Verify safety compliance with all trades.
  • Review project schedules with superintendent
  • Communicate using Procore software to PM and leadership.
  • Training – Provide training opportunities to subordinates for continuous improvement and cross training.
  • Conduct ADA walk through to maintain compliance with ADA requirements.
  • Conduct pre-punch list to ensure the project is ready for Owner's punch list inspection.

Requirements and Skills

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction.
  • 10 years’ experience as a construction superintendent.
  • Ability to read and understand both architectural and civil drawings.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Must have experience supervising a team.
  • OSHA 30 hour certified.
  • Must have strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan.
  • Must be able to create an environment where “safety first” is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude.
