Job Overview:

As the General Mechanical Superintendent, you'll play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing all aspects of mechanical construction projects. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive master plan, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Your leadership will drive the successful execution of projects, from scheduling and supervising daily activities to mentoring and developing field personnel. You'll also coordinate with subcontractors and inspectors, manage resources, and ensure proper documentation and project closeout, making a significant impact on the company's success.

Position Overview

  • Lead and foster mentoring and development across all trades and workforce levels within the company.
  • Ensure corrective actions are documented and implemented as needed.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive master plan for project execution.
  • Manage, supervise, and maintain the Critical Path Method Implementation (CPMI).
  • Schedule and coordinate daily and weekly work activities.
  • Handle the requisition, maintenance, and accountability of tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Oversee the performance, progress, and quality of subcontractors and major equipment suppliers.
  • Coordinate jurisdictional inspections and maintain positive relationships with inspectors.
  • Review, analyze, and update labor hours and job cost reports weekly in collaboration with project management.
  • Maximize project opportunities through strategic planning, pre-fabrication, CADD, organization, and scheduling, without compromising quality, safety, or deadlines.
  • Assist with schedule preparation and SIP, including logic, resource, and budget allocation, and provide updates as necessary.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation in accordance with company standards, ensuring availability for inspection at all times.
  • Provide training, mentoring, coaching, and leadership for field personnel, and participate in company-provided training programs.
  • Accurately code and review time cards daily, ensuring they are signed off and forwarded to the corporate office as required.
  • Ensure smooth project closeout by completing punch list items, providing owner training, transferring spare parts, final cleanup, demobilization, and archiving project records.


Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess knowledge of mechanical systems including pipefitting, sheet metal, and plumbing installation and have experience in a mechanical commercial construction company
  • Manages a specific department or functional area as a leader or expert.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key staff and other departments.
  • Makes critical decisions and offers recommendations that greatly impact company operations.
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in solving complex, unprecedented challenges.
  • Defines program objectives, organizes projects, and develops standards and guidelines for diverse activities.
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Holds a college/university degree or has an equivalent combination of skills and experience for technical roles.
