Project Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Construction Coordinator for a future project with the State Government of Virginia, USA. This is a 5-year initiative focused on supporting client side telecommunications systems and infrastructure construction design projects. The project is currently in the planning stages, and we are assembling a team of qualified professionals to ensure its success. Valid work authorization to work in the USA is required.

Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Construction Coordinator will provide support on infrastructure telecommunications systems and construction design projects across client side agencies. The role involves collaborating with client side departments, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project managers to design and implement telecom cabling, circuit networks, and building technology infrastructure, including smart building and modern technology capabilities. The coordinator will also manage telecom service providers and contracts, ensuring the seamless integration of voice, data, audio-video, and building automation systems (BAS) within client side facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Telecommunications Systems: Support the design and implementation of client side telecom cabling and circuit networks, including in-building wired and wireless plants, building automation systems, and IoT capabilities.

  • Collaboration: Work with various client side agencies, including DPWES Capital Facilities, FMD, NCS, Police, and Fire Department, to develop and implement telecom and technology infrastructure projects.

  • Smart Building Technology: Collaborate with client side agency sponsors, architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate modern smart building technologies into county facilities, including BAS and IoT solutions.

  • Telecom Service Management: Coordinate and provide operational and technical direction over the client side telephony service providers and manage associated contracts for telecom projects.

  • Design and Planning: Participate in design planning for communications capabilities, develop design specifications and project plans, and oversee associated expenditure plans.

  • Technical Standards: Develop technical standards and specifications for the design and installation of IT building infrastructure and approve blueprints and other construction documents on behalf of the Department of Information Technology (DIT).

  • Project Management: Oversee and inspect the installation of technology plants and BAS systems in construction projects, and manage and prioritize the work of contractors.

  • Industry Innovation: Stay abreast of IT industry innovations, respond to maintenance requirements, and activate emergency operations when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in infrastructure telecommunications systems and construction design projects.
  • Strong knowledge of in-building wired and wireless plants, building automation systems (BAS), and IoT capabilities.
  • Experience collaborating with architects, engineers, project managers, and subcontractors on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in developing technical standards and specifications for IT building infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage telecom service providers and associated contracts.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in overseeing and inspecting technology installations.
  • Familiarity with modern smart building technologies and their integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to stay current with IT industry innovations and apply them to project designs.
