GENERAL SUMMARY

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. The supervisor plans, organizes, assists with staffing, directs, and controls the warehouse activities in their department. The supervisor is accountable for helping to achieve company objectives by creating a safe workplace, properly training the workforce, ensuring labor cost efficiency, employee productivity, customer service, efficient storage, accuracy, and a clean food-grade warehouse.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

1. Lead and manage a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

2. Schedule and assign tasks to ensure efficient workflow and optimal staffing levels.

3. Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming products.

4. Ensure accurate and timely order picking, packing, and shipment processes.

5. Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliations.

6. Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.

7. Ensure all products are stored and handled in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

8. Conduct regular quality checks to identify and address any issues promptly.

9. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipments, and returns.

10. Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse activities, performance metrics, and inventory levels.

11. Perform other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment

· Inventory and Quality experience

· Proven experience building, motivating, leading, and direct a team to meet business needs


Required Licenses or Certifications

· Relevant expertise and/or certifications such as forklift certification are a plus.


COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES

Knowledge of:

· Warehouse and food distribution operations


Skill in:

· Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships.

· Performing a variety of duties, including changing priorities in a fast-paced environment


Ability to:

· Troubleshoot, problem solve, to find a root cause then being able to articulate to leadership

· Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

· Ability to work in varying temperatures ranging from -20F to 100F.

· Available to work extended hours, stand for long periods, bend, and reach.

· Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds repeatedly and frequently.


POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

· Work is routinely performed in a warehouse environment.

· Monday through Friday 8am until 5pm (with frequent overtime)

· Occasional abnormal hours are expected and required during peak times or to meet production needs.


WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· This position requires occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards and requires medium physical effort. Incumbents may be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and repeatedly.
