Full Charge Bookkeeper

Reporting to the president, the bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing company financial records, as well as ensuring accuracy, financial records, efficiency, and compliance with relevant regulations. environment. If you possess general bookkeeping experience, customer service and problem-solving skills, as well as a can-do attitude, you may qualify for this position.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Ensure that the company’s accounting system is operated in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.

Produce weekly and monthly financial, management, and cash flow reports for ownership.

Ensure that the trial Balance is completed within one week of the month end.

Understand company policies and remain fully aware of any changes.

Ensures that all assigned office equipment is properly maintained, available when needed, and reliable.

Report and update the Office Manager on the status of ongoing accounting-related projects.

Accounting Assist the HR Specialist and bookkeeper and properly administer the accounting systems

Balance General, P/R, and Subsistence Bank Statements to the General Ledger at least monthly but preferably weekly.

Manage multiple Credit Card accounts and reconciliations.

Reconcile all reimbursement and subsistence checks against timecards weekly and assist in making bank deposits.

Balance Petty Cash to General Ledger. Complete deposits as needed and manage multiple credit accounts.

Review data entry, invoicing or billings processed by Office assistant for accuracy.

Manage Collections – review AR aging weekly and escalate efforts to collect accordingly.

Oversee and review all entries made by the office staff.

Responsible for the timely scheduled payment of loans, insurance, Owner’s expense reporting

Essential Qualifications

Excellent with MS Office (Word and Excel).

Comprehensive experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks Desktop Pro and payroll systems, or fast learner.

Must have proven knowledge of day-to-day operation as a full-charge bookkeeper.

Month-End Close and Producing Monthly Financial Statements (Trial Balance, Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements). Must follow GAAP.

Accounts Reconciliation monthly, bank reconciliation.

Payroll (QuickBooks)

Experience in accounting for construction trades, prevailing wage contracts, and managing retentions is preferred.

Sound knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel management, recruitment, training, compensation, payroll, and benefits administration.

Effective control of cash flow through the timely management of AP and AR.

Well-organized and proficient in office administration and clerical procedures.
