Proteus Labs is looking for a Blood Chemistry Technician/Technologist for our growing chemistry department.  You will work with clinical blood samples running on chemistry analyzers.  If you enjoy working independently and are available to work 2nd shift (approximately 3p-12a) and have at least 2 years specific experience in a similar lab environment, this job is for you

Responsibilities

• Use established lab protocol to perform laboratory tests and correctly log the results of those tests
• Determine specimen validity within the first 20 minutes of receiving the specimen
• Identify, diagnose, and repair issues that may arise with the laboratory equipment
• Verify all test results and ensure that they are correctly matched with the specimen
• Label and organize all tests appropriately to make sure that they are easily retrievable
• Report to senior laboratory supervisors and assist in all tasks related to chemistry products
• Assist with other laboratory and accessioning tasks as required

Qualifications

• MLT, MT, or Bachelors in Biomedical sciences, chemistry, or biology
• At least 2 years of experience in a laboratory chemistry department
• Experience with Beckman-Coulter AU480 chemistry analyzer and Access 2 Immunoassay
• Experience with Sysmex analyzers
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Excellent attention to detail
• Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to follow biohazard guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to closely read instructions
