Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Structural Steel Estimator. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating for structural steel projects. While project management experience is a plus, it is not a requirement for this role. The primary responsibility of the Structural Steel Estimator is to provide accurate and competitive bids for upcoming projects, ensuring that all estimates are comprehensive and align with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare detailed and accurate estimates for structural steel work.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  • Prepare and submit bid proposals, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
  • Conduct material take-offs and develop cost breakdowns.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and availability of materials.
  • Track and report on the status of bids and proposals.
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts and change orders.
  • Monitor project progress and provide updates as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating for structural steel projects.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
