We are seeking to add a Purchasing Agent / Special-Order assistant to our team The ideal candidate should possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy with MRO or maintenance purchasing background. Our Purchasing and Special-Order department is a key point of contact with our sales force for pricing and availability as well as some application support.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and place daily purchase orders
  • Product sourcing
  • Non-stock sourcing
  • Vendor relationship management
  • Negotiation with suppliers
  • Analyze inventory and usage
  • Source, price, and process special-order requests
  • Communication with sales team members

Qualifications:

  • Supply Chain or Industrial Distribution experience a plus
  • 3+ years’ experience purchasing for an industrial technical product line or other purchasing experience
  • Prior background with an MRO company preferred
  • Associates Degree (A.A.) preferred and/or equivalent experience
  • Good customer service and ability to read, interpret and present technical information with the ability to quickly assimilate technical information
  • Must have great interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Reliability
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
