Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date Human Resources (HR) files, records, and documentation
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to collect and file all required documents appropriately
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation
  • Conducts or assists with post-offer background checks and drug screens or other pre-employment screenings as required
  • Completes I-9 documentation, E-Verifies employees, and maintains current and past documentation in compliance with I-9 requirements
  • Conducts or assists with the processing of terminations
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers
  • Ensures employees can access and know how to use the employee portal.
  • May assist with payroll functions, including answering employee questions and checking payroll
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations
  • Assists HR Manager with various research projects and/or special projects
  • Performs a variety of general office support duties; makes copies; maintains a calendar of activities, meetings, and various company/employee events; prepares and delivers mail

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or a related field is required
  • Prior related office experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to become proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to quickly learn the human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully
  • Ability to remain open to others? ideas and be willing to receive feedback
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
