The Nursing Manager is responsible for the oversight of the nursing staff and their responsibilities for delivery of First Responder Wellness Detoxification and Residential services. The Nursing Manager shall oversee the day-to-day delivery of services for all current, as well as future, stabilization facilities. Responsible for the successful management and supervision of the department according to the strategic direction set by FR Health. This position will also be responsible for the duties outlined in the LVN job description.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee the nursing/medication functions of the organization in a manner which supports the needs of all stakeholders.

• Provide necessary training and oversight to staff involved with day-to-day functioning of nursing, medication, and IMS duties in a manner which meets the needs of the participants.

• Direct oversight of the design, implementation, processes, and methods to evaluate and improve participants’ safety including Implementation of new policies and procedures in compliance local, state, and federal licensing and accreditation standards.

• Ensure quality and safety of staff and clients, improvement of clinical practices, services, and operations.

• Represent nursing on the Company’s quality improvement team to set QI, analyze, interpret, and strategize measures and track outcomes and internal/external stakeholder surveys.

• Develop, integrate, and manage the delivery of nursing services and safe participant care which are integrated with business plans and meet or exceed cost, quality, clinical and utilization standards, and performance measures.

• Overseeing the hiring, onboarding, offboarding, scheduling, and employee performance improvement/reviews in alliance with Company’s practices.

• Participate in the care plans and education for clients.

• Communicate with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team as well as address issues/escalations (staff, clients, families) in a manner which supports the ongoing care of the participant.

• Provide routine education to clinical and operations staff to ensure the delivery of nursing services and safe care is provided and up to date.

• Provide education and groups for clients weekly regarding med management and health or coordinate delivery with her staff.

• Provide nursing care and assist in the pre-admission, admission, treatment, and discharge process for residents.

• Transcribe and communicate physician orders accurately and in a timely manner to stakeholders as appropriate.

• Observe and document the self-administration of medication as per company policies and procedures.

• Accurately assess degree of detoxification by utilizing clinically appropriate diagnostic methods such as CIWA and COWS to monitor status of residents.

• Respond to emergencies and initiate action as outlined in company policies and procedures.

• Maintain communication with management team, Health Care Practitioner, and/or other key staff regarding resident care, including but not limited to shift reports, emergent/non-emergent issues, resident needs.

• Perform necessary duties for monitoring the health status (i.e. vitals, rounds, wellness checks, assessment tools) of residents per company policies and procedures

• All duties as described in the Company’s LVN job description.

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current minimum LVN License in the state of California (RN preferred)

• 2 + years clinical nursing experience, preferably in substance abuse treatment

• 3 + years of supervisory experience

• CPR and First Aid certification required.

• Valid TB clearance

Competencies:

• Advanced knowledge of HIPAA

• Proficient knowledge of chemical dependency and psychological disorders

• Knowledge of detoxification protocol and related care including symptoms and medications (including CIWA and COWS)

• Ability to accurately record information and prepare reports.

• Ability to properly support residents with self-administration of medications.

• Ability to properly conduct appropriate medical and behavioral health screenings and assessments.

• Ability to navigate the company’s EMR system.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office or other environmentally controlled room. Work may expose incumbents to contagious or infectious diseases, dangerous and volatile situations, or possible bodily injury.
