Are you looking to begin your HR career and have a passion for people? If so, this position may be the right fit for you We are searching for an engaging individual with a drive for excellence. The HR Generalist/Recruitment Assistant is responsible for supporting our recruitment efforts and providing support with FMLA compliance, implementation of our corporate wellness program (Fit Founders), onboarding new hires. This individual will additionally gain experience all other HR functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and state and federal laws and guidelines.
This position is primarily located on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Lancaster, SC, however occasional travel to support branch staff will be necessary. Remote opportunities are not available.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The HR Generalist/Recruitment Assistant is essential to our continued growth with a focus on maintaining the candidate database and reports, conducting pre-employment testing, and scheduling and facilitating interviews.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain candidate databases and ensure accurate documentation of all recruitment activities.
- Update and maintain Staffing Report daily and other reports as needed.
- Greet candidates and assist with pre-employment testing, including assessments, credit reports, drug testing, background investigations, etc. This may include some travel to Founders’ market areas.
- Assist in scheduling interviews and facilitate the interview process.
- Communicate with candidates promptly and assist with onboarding processes.
- Participate in recruitment events and job fairs.
- Assist in coordinating and maintaining all documentation regarding Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) for employees to ensure compliance.
- Assist with time and attendance questions/issues and review timecards for payroll processing and FMLA tracking.
- Assist with coordination of Fit Founders (wellness plan) including lunch and learns, fitness challenges, employee discount vendor programs, etc.
- Assist with updating the Connection with employee transfers, terminations, branch information, and HR Committee members.
- Assist with the verification and maintenance of I-9 documentation in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
- Assist with all employee functions (i.e., Retirement celebrations, 25 Year Club Banquet, etc.).
- Serve as back up for New Employee Orientation.
- Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLB and BSA. Employees have legal and regulatory obligations to respect and protect the privacy of information and its integrity and confidentiality.
- All other duties as assigned.
Specifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent Human Resources experience is required.
- Certification in Human Resources (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines.
- Experience in handling sensitive, confidential information.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate handling of employee information.
- Excellent communicator (oral and written) including the desire to ask questions and learn from coworkers as well as ability to provide clear concise explanations of policies and benefits.
- Strong administrative and data management skills.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Excel and other MS Office products.
- Well-developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships and sensitive HR issues.
- Ability to travel to our branch and office locations, as needed.
Candidate must be available Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5pm; Friday 8 am - 6pm.
