Position Description: The responsibilities of the VP/Director of Sales include working to develop a go-to-market strategy for my client that can be deployed across all territories. This will include identifying market potential, strategies to drive new customer acquisition, competitive threats, key verticals and resources required to meet and exceed sales goals.

The company is a 100% Employee-Owned Company that designs and sells mission-critical voice and data radio communications and dispatch systems and has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated individual. This is an opportunity to be part of a small, focused organization, with products that support Public Safety, County and state governments, and Utilities.

Traits & Experience

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Solid collaborator, Teamwork Orientated, willing to work with other key contributors within the company to establish and recommend the most realistic goals for the company.

· Lead and Motivate Sales Team

· 6 plus years successful experience in outside sales, at ease with cold calling

· This role could be the lead for networking with L3Harris and other business partners (Kenwood, Tait, Zetron, etc.)

· Personal Effectiveness/Credibility

· Face/Voice of Spokesperson for the Company as well as the Key Liaison with the manufacturing partners my client works with on and supports various systems with, such as: Radio Frequency (RF), Land Mobile Radio (LMR), Bi-directional Amplifier(BDA), and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS).

· Strong Negotiating Capability-(could be used for negotiating discounts with these manufacturing partners)

· Demonstrates Initiative

· This role must be very comfortable with public speaking and presentations at all levels.

· Results driven

· 3 plus years sales management experience

CORE FUNCTIONS:

· Lead and participate in developing new relationships to maximize sales territory and meet corporate objectives.

· Establishes confidence with team members to select, mentor, coach, appraise and train Account Development Staff.

· Responsible for developing new opportunities in new territories

· Focus on larger proposals, closing them and larger capture opportunities

· Skilled at negotiating supplier costs to maximize margin

· Has direct contact with people of all levels, both internally and externally

· Works closely with the business unit managers when responding to a request for proposal (RFP) to inform them of market conditions, pricing issues and the current competition on the program.

· Makes presentations to various groups within the customer’s organization when needed.

· Acts as representative to the customer during the initial contact. Attends trade shows along with different conferences, both educational and customer oriented.

· Interprets short- and long-term effects on territory growth strategies in specific areas.

DETAILS OF FUNCTION:

· Develop new business and perform sales activities on major accounts and negotiate pricing and discounts.

· Manages Proposal Team and Proposal Process.

· Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.

· Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all the company’s identified growth territories.

· Coordinates proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable results.

· Collects data and develops action plans for Sales Development

· Works collaboratively with finance, service and projects when responding to a request for proposal (RFP) to inform them of market conditions, pricing issues and the current competition on the opportunity

· Participate/lead presentations to various groups within the customer’s organization as needed

· Maintain competitive intelligence on our competitors and stay up to date on market trends

· Formulates and demonstrates good development practices and procedures.

· Assists sales personnel in establishing personal contact and rapport with key decision-makers.

· Interprets short- and long-term effects on territory growth strategies in specific areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Candidates must have a minimum of five years’ Radio Frequency (RF) systems/Land Mobile Radio (LMR) sales experience with one of these five manufacturers solutions:

· L3Harris, Tait, Kenwood, EF Johnson or Motorola. REQUIRED

· At least 6-10 years of customer-facing field sales experience.

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

· 5 plus years of sales and sales management experience in the RF, LMR industry preferred.

· Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information.

· Proven ability in developing new business as well as motivating and leading sales teams. Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies.

Travel This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.

This position is based out of Vero Beach, FL

Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test. Valid driver’s license required.
