The Marketing Specialist supports the execution of IMEC’s strategic marketing plan, specifically through  developing, executing, and monitor marketing programs across a variety of channels including print, online and in-person.  The Marketing Specialist develops and implements strategies and tactics to influence IMEC’s target audience, generate project leads, and increase market penetration. 


Essential Responsibilities:

REGIONAL MARKETING SUPPORT

  • Coordinates event marketing for workshops and seminars related to all IMEC functions including creation, list management, publicity, follow-up tracking and evaluations.
    • Virtual (webinar/trainings) and in-person event planning experience preferred
  • Manages fulfillment center to ensure all sales and delivery staff are properly equipped with materials
  • Prepares press releases, regional publicity updates including photos, and regularly provides congratulatory updates to companies after successful project completion and news announcements
  • Assists IMEC Marketing staff in providing marketing/sales/event support to field offices.


LEAD GENERATION AND BRAND MANAGEMENT

  • Implement outbound marketing communications utilizing Hubspot web platform and provide inside sales support as appropriate for inbound leads.
  • Coordinate marketing-communications to reach targets, including email and website marketing, success stories, events, sales letters and follow-up and paid advertising/advertorials.
  • Support organization-wide design consistency in all external communications, including promotional collateral, presentations, proposals, letterhead, displays, and web.
  • Develop sales collateral for existing IMEC services and programs.
  • Develop specialized publications/documents as requested (Success stories and print campaigns).
  • Assist IMEC Marketing staff with development of a web marketing strategy and looks for new ways to serve manufacturers electronically and disseminate useful information through the web. Monitor IMEC website inbound leads and follow-up with sales prospects or distribute to sales team accordingly.


RESEARCH AND DATABASE MANAGEMENT

  • Scan industry publications and websites for trends that affect companies in IMEC's targeted industries (metal fabricators, food, printing, etc.). Communicate those trends to IMEC's marketing department and field staff.
  • Develop targeted industry reports.
  • Perform specialized research for IMEC and field offices as necessary.
  • Review state publication editorial calendars and identifies promotional/advertising opportunities for IMEC.
  • Scan search engine hits for news regarding IMEC, partners, and manufacturers and disseminates to IMEC field staff and management.
  • Manage and updates customer database (data entry, communication to field offices, etc.).
  • Develop, maintain, update mailing lists and specialized lists (media, partners, legislators).
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT

  • Supports Internal Communication, Employee Relations and Staff Training
  • Supports Service Development and Operational Execution
  • Supports Legislative Relations.
  • Supports Marketing Manager

  • Ability to interact with all levels within IMEC and customer operations
  • Demonstrated writing efficiency and research capabilities
  • Knowledge of print production, media buying and design
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and project management skills
  • Data entry, organization, and analysis
  • Ability to self-manage and meet goals in an autonomous environment
  • Excellent organizational skills


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or a related discipline is required. 
  • Ability to interact with all levels within IMEC and customer operations. Demonstrated writing proficiency and research capabilities.
  • Knowledge of print production, media buying and design.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and project management skills. Database management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with word processing and design software. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Ability to self-manage and meet goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills.


Language Skills:

Must be able to communicate effectively with community organizations, public stakeholders, third-party resources, client personnel and employees at all organizational levels and to develop effective working relationships with staff and a network of technical resources.


Reasoning Ability:

Individual must be a team player with the ability to exercise independent, sound judgment and discretion; be able to plan; be well organized; work well under pressure; take initiative and be flexible and cooperative.


Physical Demands:

Position requires the ability to sit for long periods at a computer terminal.  Some walking, standing, and bending are required.   


Work Environment:

Normal office environment and standard hours with extended hours and weekend work as required. Requires the ability to travel by aircraft and automobile to client or partner locations as needed, and the ability to drive/operate an automobile.
