Manufacturing Engineer Technician

We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer Technician for a local manufacturer in the Lowell, Michigan area.
Job Responsibilities: • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency. • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications. • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays. • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization. Skills: • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. • Team player and detail oriented. • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Education/Experience: • Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in engineering required. • 0-2 years’ experience required.
Provide technical support to the manufacturing engineers to facilitate new product development projects and existing production needs
Integration of new equipment and processes to the point of production readiness including development support, facilities preparation, installation support, qualification, and trouble shooting.
Support of continuous improvement efforts related to manufacturing operations including safety improvements, department/cell layouts, cycle time/changeover reductions, and 6S.
· Support the Quality Engineering department to identify root causes of customer issues as they relate to manufacturing.
· Developing and maintaining current product cost information as it pertains to process and packaging.
· Performing cost analysis to determine the best course of action in process improvements.
· Initiating product time studies and line balancing activities.
· Initiating and processing of engineering change notices as they relate to bills of material, product routings, and cost.
· Developing and editing documented work instructions.
· Creation and/or modification of CAD models/drawings related to fixture designs.
· Experience programming CNC Machines or robotic welding helpful
· Working with project leaders and teams to achieve Quality, Cost and Timing targets.
