Job DescriptionJob Description

Our client is seeking a General Manager to oversee their surgical services business. Reporting directly to the President, the ideal candidate will possess experience in overseeing the supply and delivery of clinical personnel such as surgical assistants, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, certified surgical technicians, and clinical OR staff as well as interfacing with medical treatment facility administration and senior clinical facility staff. This role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record of operational excellence, business development, and fostering strong client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the surgical services business, including operations, business development, client management, and personnel oversight with full P&L responsibility.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, expand service offerings, and enhance market presence.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with hospital and clinic administrators, senior clinical staff, and key stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of clinical personnel, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and quality assurance protocols.
  • Manage a variety of tasks without losing focus or sacrificing delivery targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize resource allocation, streamline processes, and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare and present reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for business improvement.
  • Ensure the development and training of the surgical services staff and administrators.
  • Always function and act with the highest regard for integrity, ethics, and values.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing healthcare services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in healthcare management, with a focus on the provision of clinical/technical services.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, client management, and team leadership within the healthcare industry.
  • Broad understanding of clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and the role of surgery in the perioperative theater.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
