The Position
The Paralegal Clerk position is 50% administrative work and 50% paralegal work.
Qualifications
•Paralegal certificate is preferred
•3+ years’ experience in an insurance defense law firm
•Clear and effective communication skills both orally and written
•Strong organizational skills and computer skills proficient in MS Office Suite and document management systems
•Must be able to work independently and in a team-setting managing multiple assignments from various attorneys
•Must be able to multitask, self-prioritize, adhere to deadlines and successfully manage a variety of demands daily
•Must be familiar with State and Federal court procedures and rules
•Open to taking on new responsibilities and challenging tasks
Responsibilities
•Obtain authorizations for medical records
•Draft discovery requests and responses; review, analyze and organize document production requests from opposing parties and co-defendants
•Prepare exhibits, summarize medical records and deposition transcripts, and trial preparation
•Determine, prepare and organize material needed for expert witness review
•Assemble chronologies of key documents
•Manage documents and organize case files
•Prepare legal filings and E-file in district, circuit, federal and court of appeals
•Schedule conferences and depositions, maintain attorney calendars
•Manage bills for third party vendors, process check requests and follow up with accounting

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. The expected salary range for this position is $45,000 to $55,000. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
