ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· With limited supervision, be capable of performing:

Level 1 – Perform inspections as either an In-Plant QA Inspector or Returns Inspector.

· As an In-Plant QA inspector, using work instructions perform quality audits of internal processes to validate conformance to quality requirements; capable of performing in-process inspections, first piece inspection and dock audits using DMSO, ECR, samples, dimensional sheets, and computer data to ensure final product adheres to quality requirements; perform measurements or testing to verify conformity to specification; record measurements and test results if required; initiates defective material reports on nonconforming components.

· As a Returns Inspector, receive all incoming packages from receiving and create receiving records for packages that have an RA number; inspect, report and arrange for repair or return to stock, returned items in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction; inspect received items for any defects such as sewing, fabric, dirt and stains; restocked items will be cleaned when applicable, refolded, proper accessories added and boxed for return to stock; consult with supervisor to determine if a defective item is acceptable to be repaired or deemed a second or destroyed.

Level 2 – Perform inspections as either Receiving Inspector or both In-Plant QA inspector and Returns inspector identified in level 1.

· As a Receiving Inspector, perform receiving inspections, following the receiving work instructions, procedures and approved samples; perform receiving inspections on all raw material received; verification of all raw materials, components and other products to specification; record inspections on form (QARECL99), and on QA/Account Server/Receiving Records; perform measurements or testing to verify conformity to specification; record measurements and test results if required; Initiates defective material reports on nonconforming raw materials or components; release products to the receiving department.

Level 3 – Capable of performing all Inspector duties. In addition, shall be capable of doing first article inspections and layout inspections of patterns and ISIR samples.

Lead: Must have comprehensive knowledge of all inspection functions within the department and be able to assist in all areas as needed. Must be able to train new Quality department personnel. Communicate with Supervisor to assist with problem solving and offer suggestions for continuous improvement. Setup daily workflow and assist department personnel in solving any work in process problems. Must be able to communicate with various shipping companies to schedule outgoing shipments. Must fill in for Supervisor at meetings as needed. Must be able to assist with inspections. Will assist Supervisor in handling all daily personnel issues.

· Actively engaged in problem solving, work with assigned team to continuously improve production processes and achieve daily production goals.

· Actively participates in Lean activities and events, when requested

· Maintains and continuously improves performance metrics for the quality performance of the organization

AUTHORITY:

All personnel are responsible for quality and therefore have the authority to stop production, if necessary to correct quality problems.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Computer skills (on/off PC, typing)

· Ability to read blue prints and patterns.

· Ability to use basic measuring instruments (tape measure, calipers, micrometer)

· Basic math skills

· Ability to read and comprehend instruction.

· Ability to interface with all levels.

· Good communication skills.

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:

1 to 3 months related experience or on the job training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have 20/20 vision or correction to 20/20.

Must be able to perceive colors and shades of colors.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Must be able to stand, walk or sit for entire shift.

Must be able to work in moderate noise levels.

Must be able to work in fast paced environment.

Must be able to bend, reach, twist, stoop, squat and grasp with hands.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or GED and/or on the job training.
