Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Product Engineer to join our team. This role involves developing new pipe products, engineering infrastructure projects, optimizing manufacturing tools, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Product Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production and sales, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products and solutions that meet customer needs and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, including customer support and sales regarding our products.
•
Define and prioritize technical requirements and specifications for pipe product development, including dimensions, and performance characteristics, with a particular focus on materials.
•
Define engineering standards to ensure the feasibility and technical integrity of our products.
•
Provide technical input and support throughout project design process to the sales team.
•
Collaborate with production teams to optimize sourcing of raw materials, manufacturing processes, and logistics for pipe production.
•
Drive the successful launch and adoption of new products, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring timely delivery.
•
Monitor and analyze production Key Performance Indicators to identify areas for improvement and product innovation.
•
Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices relevant to pipe manufacturing.
•
Ensure compliance with industry standards for pipe products, including ASTM, PPI, AWWA.
Qualifications and Requirements:
•
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field).
•
Proven experience in product engineering or a similar technical role within a manufacturing environment.
•
Strong technical background in materials, manufacturing processes, and product design, with an understanding of plastic extrusion and HDPE as a bonus.
•
Familiarity with pipe standards and specifications, including ASTM, PPI, AWWA, and other relevant industry standards.
•
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in product design and development.
•
Strong project management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
•
Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially with cross-functional teams.
•
Knowledge of raw material sourcing, manufacturing, and logistics is an advantage.
Reporting Structure:
The Product Engineer will work closely with the Production Manager and the Director of Operations.
