Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and documentation of Electronic Security Systems
    • Create and review technical drawings including floorplans, single line diagrams and electrical control panels
    • Review plans and specifications to ensure design meets requirements
    • Prepare materials list based on design requirements
    • Prepare project documentation packages for use in field installation
    • Process change order requests and update project design documents
  • Provide Support to Installation and Service teams for issues elevated to design engineering
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications/Expectations

  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits (AC & DC)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of basic computer networking
  • Working knowledge of CCTV and Access Control Fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Familiarity with NEC
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong AutoCAD skills
  • Ability to work with members of a team
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong communication skills with ability to understand and articulate ideas verbally and in writing

Education, Certifications, Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field
  • Relevant work experience will improve candidacy

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk for extended periods (at least 50% of the time).
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access office equipment and other resources.
  • Operate a computer and related software for prolonged periods, and use office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copier, and printer.
  • Be able to engage in repetitive motions, such as typing and using a mouse.
  • Communicate effectively, conveying information and ideas clearly so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these interactions.
  • Observe details at close range (within a few feet), especially on computer screens and printouts.
