Locksmith and Shop Specialist For Premium Decorative Hardware

The Brass Center is looking for someone to join our team as a full-time Inventory and Shop Specialist with Locksmith skills. We are a small, privately owned company that supplies high-end decorative hardware and plumbing fixtures to the trade. This means that designers, architects, and contractors will look to us in helping to specify and procure the highest quality products for new-home construction or renovation. Door hardware (much of which is custom), cabinet hardware, and plumbing fixtures for the kitchen and bath make up the bulk of what we sell.
The most qualified candidate will need to be extraordinarily "handy" and have a passion for the finer details of what makes a small business operate. Our new Specialist will spend the bulk of their day with their hands on the merchandise in an effort to unpack purchase orders, keep inventory neatly organized, and also pick and assemble customer orders. Key Responsibilities:
- Check inventory regularly to support the sales team in fulfilling customer orders.
- Receive merchandise from purchase orders efficiently and accurately.
- Perform specialized packing for large and detailed sales orders.
- Diagnose and address issues with architectural hardware, including disassembling and reassembling items for refinishing purposes.
- Apply finishes to brass items according to specified requirements. May include patination, brushing, and buffing.
- Key-alike and master-key mortise cylinders.
- Assess and troubleshoot issues with mortise lock bodies and applying different functions to locks as needed.
- Mount architectural hardware for display purposes.
- Communicate effectively with the sales team and shipping department when sending specific items to clients.
Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams and external partners.
- General understanding of the use of different hand tools.
- Basic knowledge of drill presses, grinders, buffing machines, dremels, and other power tools.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
