Job DescriptionJob Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Promote and maintain a “Safety First” culture in conjunction with all WPC field personnel, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Vendors, and Visitors at designated/assigned project.

Supervise, coordinate, and monitor Subcontractors, Vendors/Suppliers, and applicable construction entities to ensure all work is performed and completed in strict accordance with the contract documents and WPC quality standards.

Perform detailed inspections and thorough verification of designated construction phasing/elements (dependent upon designated Assistant Superintendent responsibility/classification); including but not limited to: civil components, slab/under slab, rough carpentry, structural components/details, building assemblies, exterior/building envelope, roofing, mechanical/electrical/plumbing underground/rough/trim, drywall, interior and exterior finishes, unit accessories, landscaping, hardscape, Owner specifications, etc.

Review and cross reference contract documents, technical and finish specifications, and contract clarifications against field application(s) and installed product(s).

Identify and convey information to Project Superintendent regarding potential problems/issues, conflicts, work interferences, schedule difficulties, plan discrepancies, etc.

Assist Project Superintendent in evaluation of subcontractor manpower and production rates to ensure timely completion of subcontracted scope and/or required punch-out.

Assist Project Superintendent in safety assurance/forecasting, schedule planning and outlook, manpower requirements, material requests/statuses/inventory, and equipment/resource needs.

Identify, create, and transmit Subcontractor punch list(s). Coordinate associated follow-up and confirmation of completion.

Verify that all Subcontractor scope and subcontract obligations have been fulfilled. Prepare and inspect all items in advance of acceptance and turnover activities.


AS REQUIRED FUNCTIONS:

Cooperate during visits by OSHA, Authority Having Jurisdictions (AHJ), FCCI (Liability Insurance Carrier); Owner, Architect(s), Engineering Disciplines, and other project related entities. Note all visits and visitors are to first check-in with WPC (at designated location) and that the Project Superintendent is to be promptly made aware of any visitors requesting access to project.

Documentation and notification, to proper authority, (Risk and Safety Manager/Director, Project Superintendent, Project Manager) of all emergency situations, personal injury, property damage or theft.

All instructions for handling occurrences of emergency situations, personal injury, property damage or theft at designated/assign project, will be as outlined in Employee Manual.

Coordinate waste and dumpster collection with designated service provider.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years construction experience or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings and other documents required.
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance is essential.
