Job Summary: The Director of Finance is a visible organizational leader accountable for corporate compliance and strategically leading PDC’s fiscal operations to maximize profitability, drive growth, and minimize risk.


Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership of company values, strategies, goals/objectives to drive 1-PDC culture of safety, customer service, quality, profitability, growth, and merit shop philosophy.
  2. Member of PDC Leadership Team in oversight of strategic initiatives and critical operational matters.
  3. Represent PDC to government agencies, auditors, banks, and community.
  4. Compliance with all local and federal regulatory requirements, and professional standards and best practices.
  5. Develop and lead all financial strategies and resultant action plans and initiatives.
  6. Define, develop, deploy, monitor, and enforce corporate governance processes, procedures, policies, and current best approaches.
  7. Identify, aggregate, assess, and synthesize data, KPI, and trends against goals, budgets, and forecasts to prepare, summarize, and communicate financial performance reports, special projects, and modeling scenarios to PDC Board of Directors, Leadership, Employee Owners, and financial partners.
  8. Management of direct reports: work direction, performance monitoring, employee development, and disciplinary action.
  9. Recruit, interview, hire, fire, and employee relations of direct reports.
  10. Oversee performance and drive operational efficiency among all aspects of the finance function: billing, reporting, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, contracts, risk management, and varied other related areas.
  11. Financial analysis to evaluate corporate ventures, cash-flows, and revenue forecast.
  12. Coordination of all auditing activities.
  13. Develop and lead IT strategies and resultant action plans and initiatives.
  14. Protect PDC assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  15. Other related duties as required.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8 years accounting or finance experience, minimum of 4 years in public/corporate accounting, or any equivalent combination of education & experience
  • 5 years leadership/management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures which apply to accounting and financing (including P&L, budgeting and forecasting experience), working knowledge of data processing and applications
  • Ability to make independent judgements which have highly significant impact on the company
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff
  • Personal computer skills: Microsoft Office products (especially Excel & Word), as well as general financial and payroll software
  • Strong math skills and cognitive skills
  • Outstanding communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Conflict resolution, critical thinking, and risk management skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of performance, where deadlines are consistently met.
  • Demonstrated track record in setting a strategy with ability to translate high-level, visionary thinking into executable and operational goals.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate with, manage, and develop others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • CPA certification
  • ESOP Experience
  • Background coordinating with IT staff to manage and/or upgrade accounting system. Systems implementation experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in strategic planning and cost analysis
  • Knowledge of electrical industry
  • Supply Chain Experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
