Work Location: Camino Health Center - San Juan Capistrano or Lake Forest

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) provides nutrition education, referrals, and nutritious foods to eligible pregnant, postpartum, and lactating individuals and their children under the age of 5.  Under the direction of the WIC Supervising Nutritionist, is responsible for WIC client services and the efficient flow of WIC participants through the clinic.  Screen and document applicants’ information for WIC Program eligibility.  Provide nutrition education and breastfeeding support.  Provide WIC services at satellite sites.  Greet and promote positive working relationships with clients, families, health care providers, and co-workers.  Ensure excellence in customer service by supporting staff in the front office and performing other duties as needed.

Minimum Position Qualifications: List the minimum qualifications required for this position.

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience / Training: Bilingual English/Spanish; direct customer service experience
  • License / Certification: Requires successful completion of the WNA training program (WIC Nutrition Assistant) within 9 months of hire.

  • Education: Higher education in nutrition or an allied health field
  • Experience / Training: WIC experience or higher education in Nutrition or an allied health field. WIC WISE knowledge
  • License / Certification: WNA certification
