Job Posting: Lab Assistant

Location: Tampa , FL

Shift:  10 PM to 6 AM 

Duration: 3+ Months Monday - Friday

Pay Range: $19 Per hour

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information accurately.
  • Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly; perform minor maintenance as needed.
  • Troubleshoot specimen-related issues to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Replenish test bench supplies as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete record logs and other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to uphold safety and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a medical/lab environment or production setting preferred.
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens following safety protocols.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced production environment and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
