The Role:

The Smoke Room Production Associate is responsible for a variety of duties related to smoking, processing, developing, and producing the best smoked salts in the world. Each Production Associate ensures that the production lines are operating efficiently with minimal interruption throughout the day and plays a part in developing new products and making existing products better. Smoke Room Associates are also responsible for adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety Standards, which includes ensuring that work areas and equipment are clean and meet audit standards. This role will be the perfect fit for someone who enjoys a mix of innovation and creating with food.

What You'll Do:

  • Manually or bucket feet salt product into smoke processing equipment.
  • Pull finished salt 25- 40 lbs of salt out of equipment or re-work as needed.
  • Inspect salt for color and quality during loading and unloading.
  • Remove prepared salt from equipment, put into mixer for final color and then load into Super bag.
  • Walk salt through multiple processes and pieces of equipment to achieve desired results
  • Record weight and amount of finished salt.
  • Clean all machines, housing, tubes, smoke collectors and smokers.
  • Daily cleaning of the smokers at the end of shift and at beginning of shift.
  • Document, improve, and develop new products in a collaborative environment
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Processes, Food Safety Standards and related operational procedures
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Reliable and detail oriented
  • Hands-on and dependable individual with flexibility in their work schedule
  • Must be able to work in a shared-responsibility team environment
  • A positive attitude and willingness to accept constructive feedback
  • Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Cooking and/or food industry experience desired, but not essential
  • Forklift and electric pallet jack experience desired, but not required (in-house training)

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Warehouse environment
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, and lift repetitively
  • Must be able to lift 55+ lbs
  • Must be able to work in a smokey environment
  • Ability to ingest salt products to taste for quality
  • Face mask and respirator are provided as needed

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $19-$23 per hour non-exempt

Fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience levels, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
