Advertising Sales Representative

Edible Mendocino & Lake Counties magazine (www.EdibleMendocino.com) is seeking an independent contractor to sell print and digital ads throughout Mendocino and Lake counties CALIFORNIA.
This is a part-time, commission-based position that typically supplements other work you may be doing. Since the publication is fairly new, there is much potential to significantly grow the advertiser base and earn sizeable commissions. However, sometimes the sales pipeline from first contact to closing the deal is long, and you must be comfortable with the fact that it might take some time to see your hard work pay off.
Prior experience selling advertising or food & beverage-related products is preferred, but other types of outside sales will be considered as well.
You must live in either Lake or Mendocino county (in CALIFORNIA), and have a good understanding of the restaurants, wineries, farms and food/beverage merchants in the two counties.
The position is work-from-home (in Lake or Mendocino county only or very close) and primarily involves phone, email and snail-mail contact with clients, but occasional travel to visit clients or attend events in person may be necessary, so you must be comfortable with this, and able to drive to meetings.
