Job Title: Senior Accountant

 

Department: Accounting

 

Reports to: Controller

 

Duties / Responsibilities: We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who will process general accounting and financial transactions. Your responsibilities will include reconciling account balances and bank statements٫ processing accounts receivables, maintaining the general ledger٫ reconciling intercompany activities, preparing month-end close procedures and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of the company's accounting tasks.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

 

§ Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.

§ Records revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges, and refunds, and preparing and mailing invoices.

§ Collects cash associated with revenue by reminding delinquent accounts and notifying customers of insufficient payments.

§ Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

§ Prepares monthly sales and weights reports for management review.

§ Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.

§ Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.

§ Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments and adjustments.

§ Records and reconciles intercompany activities and accounts.

§ Works with operations to account for and track inventory movements and valuations.

§ Reviews and processes credit applications for customers and vendors.

§ Assists in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management.

§ If needed, support accounts payable specialist with paying invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payment.

§ Assesses internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of potential risk areas.

§ Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
