Product Development Coordinator

About the Role:
We are looking for a Product Development Coordinator to contribute to the development of new products in our Laboratory Products Portfolio. In this role, you will ensure successful delivery of different project types, which includes New Product Development, Line Extensions, Specification upgrades, and Private Labelling Changes. The Project Manager will report to the Sr. Product Development & Category Manager and will be based in our corporate office in Vernon Hills, IL.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the product development process with administrative tasks, such as creating item set-ups, labelling and packaging specifications and managing documentation.
- Develop and manage project timelines, success criteria, issues, risks, opportunities, and assumptions
- Communicate project status updates to Senior Management and if behind, provide recommendations and/or options to get back on track
- Handle multiple initiatives simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Participate in, follow, and support the Heathrow Scientific marketing commercialization process
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and manufacturing, to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of product specifications, timelines, and costs.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities for product development.
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 1-3 years of Project Management experience
- Familiarity with a project gating process and product development process
- Familiarity with Product Development key principles
- Strong work ethic with high sense of urgency, accountability, and initiative
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with an ownership mentality
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
