Job DescriptionJob Description

The Controller is responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s financial systems and driving the organization’s continuous improvement culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the development of and support the company’s strategic plans
  • Monitor the financial performance of the company
  • Compile and analyze financial reporting packages
  • Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management
  • Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments
  • Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel
  • Implement and monitor the month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules
  • Keep up-to-date on current HR trends
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation
  • Create new internal accounting corporate policies and maintain existing policies
  • Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability
  • Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for the management and executive teams

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
  • Accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
  • Minimum 10 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least 5 years’ experience in human resources
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, works well with all departments.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team
  • Manufacturing experience preferred 

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of operations, manufacturing
  • Good communications skills. Able to talk with customers and team respectfully, develop more leads for more work with the customers.
  • Ability to communicate to other team members supporting their requests.
  • Have good time management skills, analytical, strong math skills able to read analyze and interpret contracts etc.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to relate with all members of the team.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Products (Excel, Word PP, Microsoft 365), Vantage and EPICORE software.
