Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Laboratory Technical Specialist to join the Laboratory team


Description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day technical operations of the applicable laboratory section, in accordance with the established hospital and department policies and standards. Will play a lead role in the strategic planning process and the implementation of initiatives focused on enhanced performance, work-flow redesign, and developing a culture that emphasizes excellence in the quality and delivery of laboratory services.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Medical Technology/Laboratory Science or an appropriate biological, chemical, medical, or physical science from an accredited institution.
  • Twelve (12) months of clinical laboratory education.
  • National certification with ASCP or AMT is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience with 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Two (2) years of training/experience in moderate complexity areas.
  • Four (4) years of training/experience in high complexity testing for Microbiology and Blood Bank, with at least six (6) months training/experience specifically in Bacteriology.

Hours:

This is a full-time, day shift position working 8-hour shifts. May be required to work other hours for the effective operation of the department.
