Malone Workforce Solutions is seeking versatile individuals with strong customer service skills for an Environmental Services Worker position at a local hospital in the Lexington region.

 

Environmental Services Worker Benefits:

Environmental Services Worker Duties:

 

  • Adheres to all hospital policies and department specific policies. This includes adherence to all safety standards, confidentiality laws, and infection prevention policies
  • Completes all cleaning assignments following the 10-Step cleaning process. This includes the appropriate use of chemicals and maintaining necessary stock of supplies provided by EVS department. Cleaning assignments may include any area on Lexington property that is serviced by EVS
  • Able to independently use EVS equipment safely and appropriately to complete tasks as assigned. EVS equipment may include walk behind auto scrubbers, scrubbing machines, walk behind burnishers, room burnishing machines, wet vacuums, vacuums, or any other machine that is owned and operated by EVS (training provided). Ensures the functionality of the equipment prior to use following all safety standards. Cleans and properly handles equipment after use
  • Safely handles solid waste (non-regulated) from point of origination to compactor or disposal at the dock. Including the ability to use a barrel or trash cart to collect and transport trash. Ability to properly compact trash at dock and keep dock area clean
  • Safely handles regulated medical waste as necessary to complete job duties and in accordance with established safety standards and hospital policies
  • Maintains accurate paper work records and documentation as assigned. Submits assigned work records and documents in a timely manner as established by management
  • Maintains accurate electronic work records and documentation as assigned through the use of EPIC or other hospital software. Utilizes EPIC system to accurately log room cleaning requests and meal breaks as assigned
  • Carries IP phone at all times while on duty as assigned. Quickly answers all calls while using appropriate phone etiquette
  • Ensures positive relationships with all patients, visitors, co-workers, and other hospital employees. Follows assigned scripting and practices EVS (eye contact, appropriate voice projection, and a smile)
  • Keeps assigned closet, assigned cart, and other assigned equipment clean and in accordance with hospital and department specific standards
  • Provides basic training to new or other EVS team members as assigned. Training includes allowing other associates to shadow and provide explanation of tasks being performed
  • Transports beds, changes curtains, delivers linen, delivers supplies, and/or assists with performing any other additional EVS related services to the hospital as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned. Including basic and reasonable tasks that may be primarily related to Linen

 

Environmental Services Worker Skill & Education Requirements:

 

  • Candidates must possess a GED or HS diploma
  • Candidates are required to be willing to submit and pass background
  • Candidates are required to be willing to submit and pass a drug screen
  • Candidates are required to be willing to adhere to the hospital's vaccination policies, specifically for influenza.
  • Candidates are required to have proper work attire for entire shift
