Position Overview
The Environmental Services Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of all facilities, furnishings, and equipment while complying with safety regulations. This position is essential in providing a pristine and secure environment for both residents and staff, thereby facilitating the highest standard of care for our residents at all times.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Housekeeping Responsibilities:
- Execute daily cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Collaborate with care staff to coordinate cleaning services in resident living and recreational areas.
- Perform duties in line with established cleaning protocols.
- Ensure that all work areas are kept clean, safe, comfortable, and visually appealing.
- Adhere to safety guidelines while executing tasks and utilizing equipment and supplies.
- Maintain infection control standards during all cleaning activities.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and heating/cooling units in resident rooms and common areas as directed.
- Sanitize bathroom fixtures and ensure cleanliness by removing water marks.
- Wash windows and mirrors in resident rooms, common areas, and entryways.
- Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and disinfecting, ensuring proper safety signage is displayed.
- Dispose of waste in designated containers and replace liners as needed.
- Report any hazardous conditions or equipment issues to a supervisor.
- Clean and store equipment properly at the end of each shift.
- Ensure an adequate supply of cleaning materials is available in storage areas.
- Keep work areas organized and ensure tools and supplies are stored correctly before breaks and at the end of the day.
- Prioritize customer service, ensuring residents and their families receive exceptional care in a compassionate environment that respects their needs and rights.
- Exhibit a genuine passion for caregiving through interactions with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Effectively engage with individuals who may be ill, disabled, elderly, or emotionally distressed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Preferred: Six months of experience in a senior living environment.
- May require lifting and moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally, and 25 to 50 pounds frequently.
- Involves constant standing and walking.
- Frequent physical activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching.
- Requires manual dexterity.
- May need to assist in evacuating residents during emergencies.
