Responsibilities & Technical Skills

  • preparation detailed plans, technical specifications, and reports;
    • Perform calculations and process data using computer software or other established methods to support electrical engineering and control system design efforts
    • Document all calculations.
    • Gather equipment data and specifications and interpret as required to incorporate into the design documents.
    • Conform to CEC and Client Standards
  • Control System Design
    • P&ID development
    • Instrumentation and Field Device specification
    • Control Schematic development
    • Control Panel Layout and BOM development
    • Industrial Network Design
  • PLC and HMI programming
    • Functional Description Development
    • PLC programming according to CEC and Client standards
    • HMI Computer configuration
    • HMI Screen development and Animation
    • Simulation
    • Factory Acceptance Testing
    • Experience with the following PLC’s and HMI’s preferred.
      • Allen Bradley
      • Wonderware
      • Siemens
  • Perform purchasing of equipment and instrumentation.
    • Obtain quotations, confirm with project budget.
    • Prepare Purchase order, confirm shipping schedule.
    • Verify receipt and file documentation.
    • Provide management of control panel construction and/or delivery of instrumentation to project.
  • Perform field startup services.
    • manage contractors
    • verify installation
    • Develop Punchlist
    • Train Client
  • Follow safety requirements of CEC and Client.
  • Work with client to complete the project on a timely basis.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals.
  • Document conversations with clients where any design decision is made
  • Identify project change orders and share with supervisor prior to completion of work. Where appropriate, discuss additional cost with client or the potential of additional cost when the request is made.
  • Some travel required.
  • Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent track record.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to present complex technical and business solutions to all levels of an organization.
  • Strong business and industry acumen.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • 3-5 Years experience with controls related work required
