Job DescriptionJob Description

As a Medium Duty Mechanic at Kinkaid Civil Construction, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of medium-duty vehicles and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medium-duty vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues.
  • Replace and repair defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification or degree in automotive technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably with medium-duty vehicles.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
