Summary:
Troubleshoot electro-mechanical problems, complete installations, and perform unscheduled and scheduled maintenance on petroleum equipment, point of sale terminals and fuel management systems based upon customer demand and need. Represent the company in a professional manner and provide complete customer satisfaction to our customers. THIS POSITION IS NOT FOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned).
1. Install, maintain and repair petroleum equipment including fuel dispensers, fuel monitoring systems, submersible motors, and product piping.
2. Conduct compliance inspections. Visually inspect entire fueling components and containments for liquid or potential problems.
3. Performs factory authorized modifications per specifications.
4. Opens and closes work orders with Dispatch, provides service repair narratives (written and verbal) for customer, and submits paperwork for time worked and repairs completed in a neat, accurate and timely manner.
5. Troubleshoot and repair electronic fuel communication systems, Point of Sale (POS) and payment processing equipment.
6. Observes, analyzes, and determines corrective course of action for service and repair of customer equipment.
7. Follows safety rules and ensures that hazardous waste is disposed of properly.
8. Effectively analyzes problem situations pertaining to breakdowns of customer equipment and recommends to customer actions necessary to correct situation.
9. Performs necessary repairs to correct analyzed situations in a professional and productive manner.
10. Exhibits a professional demeanor and promotes goodwill between the company and customers by providing a superior level of customer service.
11. Maintains part inventory and supplies in van.
12. Ensures that regular maintenance is performed on service van (i.e. oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) and that required repairs are performed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no Supervisory Responsibilities.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual must maintain a valid Driver’s License as well as a clean driving record at all times of employment. Experience in the following is a plus but not necessarily required for the right individual: Experience with mechanical tasks such as installing valves, fittings, etc Experience as a pump and small engine mechanic, electrical controls and electronic wiring, computer tasks such as software installation, installing hard drives and other components, etc.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communications Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to perform the job with the number one priority being attention to detail.
