Inside Sales Associate

Miami, Florida



American Wire Group (“AWG”), a leading supplier of insulated, bare wire and cable products, and services for infrastructure applications, specializes in renewable energy (wind and solar) and electric utility transmission, distribution, and substation products. AWG designs, manufactures, and markets our exclusively branded products along with the industry’s best service and availability of inventory to deliver innovative solutions to the marketplace. At this time, the company seeks a go-getter to expand sales. The Inside Sales Associate (“ISA”) will drive sales by paying attention to customer quotes, bids, and relationships. The ISA will thrive in this sales cycle environment and will contributes significantly to customer acquisition and revenue growth.

 

The ISA will sell AWG products to other businesses by locating new sales opportunities through tactics like cold calling, attending trade shows and building mailing lists, negotiating salesterms, and providing product demonstrations. The ISA will support the sales team by preparing customer quotations and bid documents, processing customer requests, answering and directing customer questions and technical support, and responding to customer inquiries. This will also include assisting Project Managers with maintenance and updates to project schedules. The ISA will solidify existing and incoming relationships by the outstanding quality of the work performed on behalf of our customer base. The ISA will:

  • Convert pre-qualified leads into sales opportunities.
  • Generate new business by using upselling tactics to enhance the customer experience.
  • Work with existing customers to identify their needs and requirements.
  • Utilize inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails to source new sales opportunities.
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure.
  • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas.
  • Research accounts, identifies key players, and generates interest.
  • Maintain and expands a database of prospects within the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with channel partners to build a sales pipeline and close deals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients in the technical and scientific wholesale and manufacturing fields.
  • Identify and locate new clients through a variety of methods, including networking and cold calls.
  • Develop and implement strategies for sales in an assigned region or industry.
  • Apply knowledge of the field and product features to match products to client needs.
  • Answer inquiries from clients concerning products, their uses, and the industry at large.
  • Provide information, quotes, credit terms, and other bid specifications to clients.
  • Negotiate prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements.
  • Prepare contracts and submits orders.
  • Collaborate with purchasing departments, managers, and other staff to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and that products are distributed properly.
  • Periodically prepare and report results, status of accounts, and leads to managers.
  • Provide data entry and extraction to deliver reports and analysis as instructed.
  • Retrieve information from records, email, minutes, and other related documentation; prepare written summaries of data when needed.
  • Support the sales team with the processing of customer documents (quotes, purchase orders etc.).
  • Support sales team with processing of vendor documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of customer bid proposals.
  • Respond to or direct customer inquiries.
  • Support the project team with data entry and extraction.
  • Work with existing accounts while simultaneously generating new leads. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education, Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Biology, Engineering, or related field required
  • Proven inside sales experience of a year or more.
  • A record of over-achieving quotas.
  • Ability to travel 3 to 6 weeks per annum.
  • Strong phone presence and experience at dialing dozens of calls per day.
  • Proficiency with corporate productivity and web presentation tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening and presentation abilities.
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Bi-Lingual/bi-Literate Spanish skills, a plus.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of technical AWG products to be sold.
  • Organized; pays attention to details.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft D365.
  • Driver's License (Preferred)
