POSITION SUMMARY:  This coordinator is responsible for creating an environment where community youth are supported and resilient.  This person will lead efforts to implement a community-wide, youth-focused process of engagement, assessment and program development following the Communities that Care PLUS (CTC) system, SAPST, or other evidence-based model for community engagement and will also assist local schools in assessing readiness for school-based healthcare.  This position will also assist in the development and deployment of outreach and education efforts to reduce the prevalence of opioid use disorder (OUD) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) in the community and increase the awareness of the scale of OUD/SUD, the nature of the disorder and the most effective and evidence-based responses to promote treatment uptake and decrease stigma.


COMPENSATION: $18.31-$18.91/ hr. DOE

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time

AVAILABILITY: Monday to Friday

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 


Education/Certificates/Licenses:

Experience:

Required

  • Two (2) years’ in community organizing, youth work, ministry, education, or public health
  • Community outreach and education

Preferred

  • Five (5) years’ experience in community organizing, youth work, ministry, education, or public health.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serves as a member and/or facilitator of a local Youth Prevention/SUD/OUD coalition.
  2. Completes training in the CTC system (or other community engagement system) to serve as the “catalyst” to bring the CTC system to our community through initial engagement with the Consortium, broadening the effort to include all relevant community stakeholders, and establishment of a Community Board.
  3. Provides staff support to the Community Board and its working groups.
  4. Works with the trainer/regional manager to coordinate training and technical assistance which includes ensuring readiness for next training event, securing a training site, contacting participants, arranging for needed equipment, and coordinating materials.
  5. Processes Community board meeting preparation and follow-up which includes scheduling, securing a site, coordinating materials, arranging for refreshments if needed, maintaining rosters, and preparing and distributing agendas and minutes.
  6. Participates in all model required activities, including bi-monthly coaching calls and documentation of progress (milestones/benchmarks).
  7. Documents the coalition effort by keeping meeting minutes and files of all related activities.
  8. Prepares reports as needed to Coalition members, One Health Board of Directors, and other County organizations connected to the project.
  9. Assists in the development and deployment of community outreach and education strategies in a variety of prevention areas
  10. Provides data required for completion of grant-related quality assurance/quality improvement projects and all required Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funding reports.
