POSITION SUMMARY

The Youth Development Professional (YDP) plays a crucial role within our program team. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to embark on a career path focused on youth engagement in educational, athletic, or artistic environments. The YDP will primarily work with youth during program hours and will undertake the responsibilities outlined below while collaborating closely with the Club Director.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program calendar that aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Create a weekly and monthly schedule of activities, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible.
  • Encourage member participation in diverse program activities, providing guidance and constructive feedback to enhance skill development.
  • Foster an environment that encourages active participation in programs.
  • Facilitate the registration of new members and assist with their orientation.
  • Serve as a role model and provide mentorship to club members.
  • Effectively manage and deliver programs and services for drop-in members.
  • Oversee activities to ensure member safety and maintain facility standards.
  • Continuously evaluate programs to ensure they meet the evolving needs of members.
  • Engage in special programs and events as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality programs, assisting in various capacities as required.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Maintain regular communication with Club staff, members, and supervisors to share information and address any issues.
  • External: Interact with community groups, schools, and parents to support problem resolution.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or formal training.
  • Understanding of youth development principles is essential.
